What is the south coast around Zygi like

We are thinking of staying in the Zygi / Maroni area next summer but would like to know something of the character of the area.

We like to be quiet and remote without any noisy discos, powerboats etc. to disturb the peace.

The north west seems to be the recommended quiet region, but this area half-way between Limassol and Larnaca looks equally quiet. Can anybody advise us?

Zygi area

Yes the north west near Polis and Latchi is the quiet region of Cyprus, but I assume you may be flying into Larnaca so are looking at the Zygi area.

I have only visited there once and while it is quiet, it's also lacking in features eg. no hills, hiking trails, not especially scenic.

Governor's beach is the main beach area and that has a campsite which will be noisy in high summer.

I strongly advise you to consider Polis and Latchi instead, much nicer :)
