Tzoumerka (Kakopetria area on the way to Troodos)

We passed this place a number of times as it is on the main road from Nicosia (via Kakopetria) to Troodos, and one day decided to have a look inside - and have been visiting ever since!
The owners are Greeks living in Cyprus for a number of years, they're a great couple always ready to accommodate special orders and they serve fabulous, simple yet always tasty (and fresh!) Greek food at very reasonable prices - a meal for two with drinks and coffee never went higher than EUR40.
We loved it at winter time, planning our trips to have a good meal on the way back from the mountains (another plus was that they were open all day, i.e. we could go for a late lunch at 4 or 5 p.m.). In summer it's a great way to spend an evening with a glass of wine or bottle of beer with a nice piece of meat enjoying the coolness of the mountains :)
The menu is a bit different from what you normally have in an average Cyprus food place, and even typical Cypriot dishes like loukaniko or souvla come with a nice Greek touch.
