Locals are quite noisy and music nights keep the villagers awake!! Not a quiet place.

Revisit a year later. March 2011 by: Fay, UK
Still very good. Our kleftico and roast chicken were meltingly tender and full of flavour. Best chicken I've had for years. My star rating should be taken in the context of everyday food, not haute cuisine, but this is great fresh home cooking and not reheated bulk cooking that's often tourist fare. No chips!

Excellent for 'foodies' by: Fay, UK
Superb home-made fresh food but it is a place for foodies rather than a romantic evening as it's basically a front room, extended, with a small garden area too. Daily specialities so menu is limited but freshly cooked. Locals say the food is excellent too. Ate there April 2010. Two of us ordered hummus, tzatsiki, olives, an avocado dip, delicious grilled bread with oil (then an extra order of more bread it was so good), a huge very fresh salad , chicken kebab, lamb chops, potatoes (called chips on the menu but half-spuds cooked in tomato and herbs) and the pasta/cous-cous mixture popular in Cyprus. And 3 soft drinks. All for just over 20 Euros. And very full tummies!

Poor food at Smigies tavern by: Helen
I took my walking group to the Smigies tavern today (March 09) and I have to say the food was both disappointing and over-priced for Cypriot fare.
I ordered the basic standard in all Cypriot restuarants - souvlaki pork kebab. The meat was a)very fatty (it is normal to have some fat for flavour but not entire chunks disguised as meat!) b)was undercooked making any meat that was there impossible to chew.
It was accompanied by a few slices of tomato and cucumber (a salad?) and soggy chips. And the cost a whopping € 8 Euros - kebabs elsewhere cost between € 5-6 euros.
Others who ordered the kebab had the same problem.
We will not be returning and they have missed a good opportunity as our walking group us normally at least 15 people for food after a walk as it was today.
