Paphos
Paphos review. We will try to keep this short & sweet! Everyone who we talked to about Cyprus kept banging on about how Great Cyprus is, It's beautiful, there's loads to do, the people are friendly etc.
Well on arrival myself and my wife were not the least bit impressed with the surroundings and the overall appearance of the island, maybe due to all the rave reviews we had been given prior to arrival, we were quite disappointed as this was our first holiday in three years.
Well let us tell you the simple truth! NEVER judge a book by its cover, once the cover of this book was opened we couldn't put it down, and we can't wait for the second chapter.
Our hotel,
The Elysium hotel in Paphos was TOP CLASS! But for those in the know it's not the cheapest, but then when your son is getting married it's worth the little extras.
In the Port area there's loads of places to shop, eat drink and be merry, with something to suit everyone's budget contrary to belief.
Situated on the main B1 road, Oneil's Irish Bar, The Red Lion for those who like a bit of Kareoke, don't ask us how to spell it we were too merry to read! Plus plenty of other international style Bars, Restaurants, Cafes, Tavernas Etc.
But one place in particular stands out above the rest, on the main B1 road heading towards Coral Bay from the Port Area, Fat Mama's! Maybe not the cheapest place in town, and maybe not to everyones taste, but the fact that you are advised to book in advance speaks volumes, the food the welcome and the entertainment laid on by the staff is, in our opinion, second to none!! Hence the reason for our two visits in the week we spent in Paphos.
Can't wait for the second installment!
