A different kind of meze in Cyprus by: Helen (website owner)
Meze meze is a great new taverna in the village of Kathikas, situated between Peyia and Polis. It's the old Araouzos tavern, famous for its meze over many years, but now with a different twist on the usual Cypriot meze (which I find has too much meat and leaves you feeling over-full).
Meze meze offers dishes from the Greek islands rather than Cyprus itself and there are many vegetarian dishes in the full meze which makes it easier on the stomach.
Favourites when I last went were the bean dip called Fava topped with capers and tomatoes, the cheese balls (fried and delicious), the home-made sheftalia which were really light and not overly spicy and the prawn saganaki.
Try Meze meze and see for yourself. The full meze costs €18 euros. Groups can book a smaller meze if you don't have a big appetite.
