This little girl wandered into my life when I was enjoying an evening with friends in a local taverna. I called her Gilly… no idea why just that it suited her and she answered to it. She caught my attention by being chased by a kitten hungrily fighting for scraps of food given by the tourists. She was cold thin and full of ticks and instantly she captured my heart. She came with us willingly jumping into the boot of our car and curling up like it was her natural habitat. She must belong to someone I thought tomorrow I will take her to the vets and find out. Naively I assumed she would have a distraught owner and a microchip so she could be reunited. So after posts to lost and found dogs and rescue centres I concluded that sadly she had been dumped probably because she was pregnant. She had no home no hope and no love in her life. Time for a change of fortune Gilly’s luck was going to change and I was going to make it my mission to find her a warm bed and a loving home.
