But a new hotel has just opened which puts a whole new slant on luxury.
Ayii Anargyri is a Cyprus spa hotel with a difference. Set in a gorgeous tranquil valley half way between Paphos and Polis, the hotel is situated near some natural sulphur springs which have been used by the locals for their healing qualities for centuries.
There are 150 rooms ranging from classic Monks' rooms to private bungalows where guests can bathe in their own private bath or jacuzzi filled with water from the natural sulphur springs.
Amenities are all you would expect from a top hotel including a sophisticated cardio gym, top class cuisine, stunning central pool (as seen in this picture of the spa hotel) and of course there is the amazing natural healing spa.

Treatments on offer at this Cyprus spa hotel are extensive and include detoxifying packages where you are taken on a journey to stiumlate the senses with oriental spices and seaweeds or just indulge in a luxury massage or pampering facial. They also offer weight loss programmes and the usual range of beauty treatments.
My verdict: Ayii Anargyri Spa Hotel may only have a 4 star rating but it deserves to be 5 star as I think it's better then the Anassa! Ok it doesn't have any sea views, but to compensate, the lush citrus groves and to-die-for scenery surrounding the hotel make it the perfect location for a relaxing yoga retreat or just to totally unwind.
