Getting your Cyprus accommodation right can really make or break a holiday.
Whether you are looking for a buzzing resort with plenty of nightlife and good beaches or you prefer a more relaxing traditional environment; whether you are single, a couple, a family or a large group, there is a Cyprus accommodation type to suit you and your budget.
So read on for my tips on where to stay in Cyprus.
Cheap Accommodation in Cyprus
There is a bewildering choice of Hotels in Cyprus for starters, from small, quiet, un-rated hotels offering cheap accommodation in Cyprus to gorgeous LUXURY hotels, for that VERY special occasion.
Tip: Before booking any Cyprus accommodation, I recommend checking to see what other travelers have to say about it first at Trip Advisor. You can also compare prices with a couple of clicks to find the best deal.
Then there are apartment hotels. These are usually much cheaper than staying in one of the bigger hotels AND they offer the opportunity for self catering. While you may not want to do much in the way of cooking on your holiday, you do, of course, have your own FRIDGE which is VERY useful for storing cold drinks in the middle of a sizzling hot Summer!
Alternatively, a popular choice for people who like to make their own travel arrangements is to rent a privately owned apartment or villa - and Cyprus has a vast choice from simple 1 bedroom places on a complex to luxurious private villas with infinity pools.

Popular in many parts of Europe such as Italy, Agrotourism provides money to help owners restore traditional, old properties and offers you the chance to stay in the fabulous Cyprus countryside, immersed in the ancient traditions and ways of village life.
The Cyprus Agrotourism Company was set up in 1995 and has helped to restore over 60 properties to date.
Many of the beautifully restored houses are located near Polis/Latchi where we live so we KNOW how gorgeous they are and would highly recommend any of them.
Holiday Villas Cyprus
If you are looking for a private villa or apartment for your holiday, then Cyprus is a perfect choice. I highly recommend a villa or apartment in the Argaka or Latchi areas if you want true peace and quiet or go for something in the popular Coral bay area if you want a greater choice of bars and nightlife.
NB: Villa rental in Coral bay is far more expensive than in the Polis/Latchi area, especially in high season.

Tips on where to stay in the best Cyprus accommodation

Check out which Cyprus town you want to stay in first. Choose Paphos, Larnaca or Limassol for a wide choise of bars and restaurants, but Polis and Latchi if you prefer a quieter resort close to nature.

Check out travel sites like Trip Advisor. for warts n' all reviews of your prospective accommodation and a list of hotels with positive reviews from real travellers.
