Buying a car in cyprus

Is it okay to buy a car in southern cyprus and bring to northern cyprus to use. I am from uk and will be working and living here. I am told I can do this if I keep up the road tax payment from southern cyprus and then I can drive in both north and south and no duty to pay on car....

To be honest I'm not sure. You really need to contact the road traffic department in the south.

As far as I know yes you can take a car across the border if registered in the south. But if you are working youo are not allowed a duty free car - we certainly weren't when we arrived 9 years ago - but that may have changed. duty free cars only apply to retired persons as fas as I know. So please check
