Best place to stay in Cyprus

Me and my friends are thinking to go to Cyprus for a week's holiday in June. Where is the best place to stay?

The best flight deals are to Paphos, but I saw somewhere on your site that Ayia Napa is a good place to stay.
Where do you recommend? where can we find the better beaches and history?

Coral Bay

We love Coral Bay. Best beach that side of the island and lots to do without it being full of 'pumping' bars.

Where to stay in Cyprus

It depends on your highest priority. If it's great beaches and lots of sand, then choose Ayia Napa but be warned, in high season, it is full of younger people with lots of bars, nightclubs etc.

Paphos is a good resort too and better for history eg. Roman mosaics and Tombs of the Kings. The best beaches there are at Coral Bay and deserted beaches on the wild and rugged Akamas.

In short, if you're young and want nightlife choose Ayia Napa, if you're older and want a good mix of both beaches and history plus be close to the Troodos mountains (1 hour from paphos), then choose Paphos.
