Louis, Bruno and Vanilla 5 days old with their mummy Chanel

The first litter of our youngest cat - Chanel.. The kittens are part ginger in colour. Guess what colour the father was!

They are so tiny when born and simply beautiful.

Do post a picture when they are a few weeks older too - there's nothing more cute than kitten photos!

Update - November 2011. We found a kitten a few months ago, dumped in a field opposite our house. She was only a a couple of weeks old and her colouring reminded me of this picture. her belly was distended and she had problems eating and going to the toilet.

Without the mother, a kitten cannot learn how to be "toilet trained" as mum has to lick the kitten clean and show the kitten what to do.

We had people arriving for a bike trip so sadly could not give the kitten the 24/7 care she needed for a few weeks, so we had to take her to Paphiakos in Paphos, the animal rescue centre.

I assume she was probably put down if no-one gave her a home which broke my heart. Being a cat in Cyprus is a tough life.
